Letter to Parents/Guardians regarding return to School in January 2021

Dear Parents / Guardians,

Following new instructions from the government on the 30th December 2020 we would inform you that school will be open from the 5th of January 2021 for all primary students who are expected to attend as normal.

Secondary age students are to be offered a lateral flow test. However, this is not compulsory for the child to attend school but is strongly encouraged to detect any asymptomatic carrier who may spread the virus.

If any student is exposed to a confirmed case of COVID-19 and does not wish to take a daily test they will then have to isolate for the required period at home.

Please complete and return the parents’ permission form if you wish your child to participate in the testing programme or if you do not wish your child to participate please just let us know in writing.

Returning to school.

All students may attend school, at parents’ discretion, when they will be supervised and complete the same work as is set online. We would request you inform us whether you intend to attend or not.

At the moment the advice is that all year 11 students work online for the first week of term if they do not attend school and then must attend school from the 11th January 2021.

All other secondary age students must return to school on the 18th of January if they do not attend school from the start of term.

Please note that staff will be available in school from Monday, January 4th if you wish to contact us with any questions or for further clarification.
