Years of history and education
Lord’s Independent School began as a commercial college in Bolton in 1906, providing practical education and preparing young people for their future. From its earliest years, the school has maintained a strong commitment to helping students develop knowledge, confidence and independence.
In 1975, Lord’s evolved into an independent school, broadening its educational provision while continuing to offer the personal attention and supportive environment for which it had become known. Its curriculum developed to provide pupils with strong academic foundations and preparation for GCSE qualifications. Ofsted historical record
Throughout its history, Lord’s has remained a small and caring school where pupils are treated as individuals. Small class sizes enable teachers to understand each learner’s strengths, provide focused support and encourage pupils to achieve their personal and academic potential.
Today, Lord’s continues its educational journey from its home on Green Lane in Bolton. Guided by the ethos “Where Children Matter”, the school remains committed to providing an inclusive, nurturing and ambitious education that prepares young people for further study, employment and life beyond school.
